MEETMEINTHEWOODS ran like she was a race away from top form
in her return from a four-month layoff. She pressed a fast pace and finished
fifth of 10 in a productive race from which the winner and fourthplace
finisher both returned to win. Second start back, stretching out to
two turns, MEETINTHEWOODS should show her best now that she
has a race under her belt. But is she the same filly as her brilliant
debut suggested, or was her heart broken in successive Grade 1s in
her second and third starts? This race will tell the tale. SPORTS EDIT
I O N returns from a four-month break for sharp first-off-the-claim
trainer Bill Spawr. SPORTS EDITION has a closing style that would
play well if the top choice gets into a duel with stretch-out filly
TYROLEAN EMPRESS. The latter has never run long, but trainer
Mike Harrington scored three upsets at Hollywood with stretch-out
sprinters ($17 Currituck, $77.80 Donerella and $11.80 Your Hit
Parade). MAMITA CHULA could tuck into a cozy trip just off the pace.
She went too fast and cracked last time.
