Dear Betfair User,
I am writing to you with regard to the bet/s placed on the above tennis match. Gambill retired from this match at 5 - 4. As a result of this all bets have been declared void in accordance with our terms and conditions. These can be viewed by selecting ABOUT US>RULES & REGULATIONS>TENNIS from the Betfair Homepage. I have included the relevant rules for your convenience:
Tennis
If a player retires during a match before its completion, the player progressing to the next round will be deemed the winner. However if less than one set has been played all bets will be void unless a result has been unconditionally determined. This includes ‘Match Odds’ and ‘Double/Treble’ markets.
If a player fails to start a tournament or match, all bets on that player or individual match will be void.
All bets relating to the number of occurrences of certain events within a tournament will be void if the tournament is reduced in length, postponed or cancelled.
In-play markets
The 'outright winner' market will remain open throughout the tournament and at no point prior to the start of the final will unmatched bets be cancelled.
All unmatched bets on an individual match will be cancelled at the start of play, unless otherwise stated. Bets placed when the market has been turned in-play are done so on a 'buyer beware' basis and, as such, will not be cancelled by Betfair at any point during the match.
Where markets are offered on individual games within a match, a retirement during a game will render that game market and all subsequent individual game markets void unless a result has already been unconditionally determined.
