Spurs vs Pistons 6.Jan

It is true that the Spurs have been playing below the usual high expectations set for the defending champions. Their record is 21-14 and that gives them only 7th place in the Western Conference standings. They are not in real danger of dropping out of the top 8th, but its not only about limping to the play-offs, but also getting there while playing the best basketball of the season. The Spurs are far from their best, but signs of improvement are there. They have won 3 of their last 4 games and 3 straight home games. Although they are playing without Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard, they are obviously tough team to beat at home and at least all their other players are healthy.

Ever since waiving Josh Smith the Pistons have picked up their pieces and have started to play a bit better. 5 game winning streaks is great, but they are still only 10-23 this season and lot of their recent success is because they have played bad or struggling teams (IND, NYK, ORL, CLE dealing with injuries, SAC). The real test will come today, when they will face the Spurs – a complete team that will expose all your weaknesses.

The handicap line is affected by the Pistons recent “fake” success and the Spurs playing without Parker and Leonard. It is not totally fair though. The Spurs have too much depth, experience, pride and quality for a young and unexperienced team such as the Pistons. Having 3 straight days of rest will help the Spurs aging players and we expect them to jump on the Pistons from a get go to secure safe 4th win in a row in front of their home fans. Take the Spurs to cover -8.5 points @2.00 with 3/5 units from Pinnacle.

Due partite che mi ispirano ben poca voglia di giocare, e dopo aver visto i finali di Houston e Cavs ieri sera ( sui cavs pesa la trade che ha visto nientepopòdimenoche Waiters andare a OKC, JR Smith e Shumpert ai Cavs e 3 scarponi già tagliati ai Knicks, che ora rivaleggiano in scarsezza con Philadelphia e che grazie alla vittoria sixers di ieri sera hanno il peggior record della lega) mi viene voglia di stare a guardare.
Ho l'idea che Milwaukee possa continuare nel buon momento contro i Suns, che hanno approfittato di un tour de force Raptors notevole per cancellarli dal campo, l'idea è che quando i Suns trovano squadre più performanti di loro sotto i tabelloni non abbiano le armi per contrastarli, e in più sono due squadre in grado di segnare e tanto, anche se la linea è altina c'è da farci un penserino.
Marciata spesso Detroit di recente e ha dato grandi soddisfazioni, ma contro gli Spurs non va il dito purtroppo, va bene che i Pistons hanno girato la vite, ma si parla cmq di San Antonio che riesce sempre a tirarsi fuori da certe situazioni e credo che possa spuntarla anche stasera.
