Martedì 6 giornata conclusiva della prima fase a gironi in Challenge Cup (rimarrà  ancora solo da giocare il recupero della partita d'andata del girone 2 tra Llanelli e Aberystwyth Town)

Si qualificano alla fase successiva le vincenti dei sei gironi e le due migliori seconde.

Situazione già  delineata in alcuni gironi, mentre interessante è la situazione nel terzo.

Porthmadog, che non stà  andando bene in campionato ed è in aperta polemica con la Federazione per una questione riguardante le nuove disposizioni che regolamentano i trasferimenti dei giocatori, ha l'occasione di passare questo turno di Coppa con una vittoria ai danni del Caersws, già  eliminato dalla competizione e per nulla trascendentale.

Si gioca a 2,20@bwin e sembra alto. Su altri bookmakers si trova addirittura di meglio.
Vado forte e deciso con 15u

Aggiungo altre due bets.

Nel girone cinque appoggio con 12u il Welshpool Town a 1,90@BaH contro il Newi Cefn Druids.
Welshpool al quale basterebbe anche il pari per qualificarsi, ma non credo che giocare facendo calcoli rientri nello spirito gallese.
Avversari sono poca cosa e già  eliminati. Il Welshpool, che il prossimo anno non potrà  più giocare nella massima serie gallese a causa di problemi con la licenza, ha l'occasione di prendersi una delle poche soddisfazioni stagionali avanzando in Coppa.
Come detto, un pari a loro sarebbe sufficiente, ma è chiaro che una vittoria riserva sempre grosse soddisfazioni soprattutto in una stagione che sarà  avara di successi.

Poi, con più prudenza, 8u sul Prestatyn Town a 2,50@BaH

Hanno impegno casalingo difficilissimo visto che affrontano un Rhyl che perde rarissime volte.
Rhyl già  qualificato mentre con una vittoria il Prestatyn si qualificherebbe sicuramente rientrando tra le due migliori seconde.
Padroni di casa che sono in gran forma ma non sarà  una passeggiata.
E' un derby ed il Rhyl non avrà  di certo intenzione di fare la vittima sacrificale.

THE quarter-final line-up in the Loosemores League Cup will be almost complete after Tuesday night's round of group matches.
Porthmadog and Prestatyn Town can guarantee a last eight spot with victories, while Welshpool need only a point at Elements Cefn Druids.
Prestatyn face the hardest task at home to derby rivals Rhyl, who boast a 100% record from their games in the competition so far. The Lillies have Lee Hunt available again after a three-match ban, while Martyn Naylor could also return after illness.
Porthmadog can claim leadership of Group 3 if they can win away to Caersws, failing which Gap Connah's Quay would be left high and dry as group winners.
In Group 5, Bala Town and Welshpool are almost certain of qualifying by one route or another - the mid-Wales Lilywhites lead on goal difference and can secure a place with a draw or win at Plas Kynaston.
Llanelli host Aberystwyth Town at Stebonheath Park, but the sides have still to meet in the one outstanding game in two weeks' time, so the outcome of Group 2 may not be decided until then. Both sides have four points from two games to date.
The New Saints, who are at Newtown, have already qualified as have Port Talbot Town, who meet Carmarthen Town at the GenQuip Stadium.

Oggi tra Galles ed Inghilterra sono pesantemente esposto! Vediamo di fare centro su tutta la linea!

Prono al volo.... Partita in programma alle 20:30 di venerdì 9. Match dagli elevatissimi contenuti tecnici. Si affrontano il Newi Cefn Druids ed il Caersws. Una sola vittoria finora per i locali, "meglio" hanno fatto gli ospiti che hanno colto anche un pari. Druids che segnano pochissimo ma che nelle partite precedenti con un pò di fortuna potevano quantomeno dividere la posta. Sconfitti spesso di misura, hanno almeno dimostrato di potersela giocare con formazioni di livello superiore. Caersws che invece ultimamente ha perso prendendo sonore scoppole. La partita è di livello infimo ma penso se la possano aggiudicare i padroni di casa che tra l'altro hanno battuto il Caersws nelle ultime quattro sfide. Stake limitato ad 8u ma prendo il segno 1 a 2,31@5dimes

Bala Town - Connah's Quay ore 20:30

Bala che dopo un buon inizio di campionato è un pò calato negli ultimi tempi.
Ultima vittoria che risale ad oltre un mese fà . Uno stiracchiato 1-0 contro il Cefn Druids.
I problemi maggiori si hanno in attacco. Solo due gol messi a segno negli ultimi sei impegni, anche se bisogna dire che sul loro cammino hanno trovato, tra gli altri, Llanelli, Rhyl e TNS.
Quest'oggi il problema del gol si potrebbe accentuare ulteriormente visto che, come potrete leggere, non sarà  disponibile il centrocampista Ricky Evans, top-scorer del Bala Town.

Connah's Quay è squadra modesta, ma è stata anche poco fortunata negli ultimi due impegni.
Sconfitti di misura in campionato da Prestatyn Town e Carmarthen Town, in particolare contro questi ultimi meritavano qualcosa di più, ma tre miracoli del portiere del Carmarthen hanno impedito loro di cogliere un risultato positivo.

il portadown contrariamente in casa raccoglie molto 6 punti in 3 partite ! con questo vado molto deciso ...

Dopo l'anticipo di ieri tra Llanelli e Carmarthen Town terminato 3-1 in favore dei padroni di casa, si giocheranno quest'oggi tutti gli altri incontri di questo turno della prestigiosa Welsh Cup, il cui vincitore avrà  accesso alle prossime Coppe europee.

Uno dei match più interessanti è senza dubbio:

Connah's Quay - Airbus UK FC ore 15:00

E' un derby e quindi sarà  un match molto sentito dalle due formazioni nonchè dalle rispettive tifoserie.
Connah's Quay che in settimana è riuscito in modo rocambolesco a superare il turno della meno prestigiosa Challenge Cup rimontando in dieci uomini contro il Bala Town segnando due gol nel minuti di recupero.

Bravi a crederci fino alla fine, ma senza dubbio anche un pò fortunati nel riuscire a capovolgere in modo incredibile le sorti della partita.
Nonostante io gli abbia appoggiati la volta scorsa, rimango dell'idea che la squadra sia di livello modesto e che quest'oggi il ruolo di favorito, a dispetto delle quote proposte dai bookmakers, lo debba recitare l'Airbus UK del formidabile striker Mark Lloyd-Williams, già  autore di dieci centri in campionato.

In campionato le due squadre sono separate da quattro punti in favore degli ospiti che, come detto, possono contare su un ottimo reparto offensivo costituito non solo dall'eccellente Lloyd-Williams, ma da altre ottime "bocche di fuoco".
Il problema dell'Airbus finora è stata la difesa, colta da frequenti amnesie soprattutto nelle fasi cruciali della partita, ma che, secondo me, è squadra di qualità  complessivamente superiore agli avversari.

Connah's Quay failed in a bid to switch their all-Welsh Premier tie against Airbus UK Broughton to Friday night, so the game goes head-to-head with the visit of holders Bangor City to Flint Town United's Cae-y-Castell.
Nomads' player-manager Mark McGregor says his side must discover a "killer instinct" if they are to send their rivals out of the competition.
"We are playing well but we are missing that vital ingredient - goals. If we had scored more then we would be at least five points better off," says McGregor.
"It’s not as if we have not been creating the chances but we have got to start taking them.
"The Airbus game is a big one as it’s local, everybody knows each other at both clubs and as it’s a cup game, it adds that extra bit of spice."
Meanwhile, Wingmakers' boss Craig Harrison has called for his side to "cut out silly mistakes" after conceding a late winner to Port Talbot last Saturday.
"Conceding late goals is becoming a bit of a bad habit and it’s up to me and the coaches to sort it out," he says.
"I don’t know whether it’s fitness or concentration, or confidence, but we’re working in training to hopefully get rid of these silly mistakes."
Harrison is predicting a decent first Flintshire derby of the campaign after running the rule over Nomads recently.
"It’s going to be a tough game. I’ve seen Connah’s Quay a couple of times, including against Prestatyn recently and they were the better team in the first half.
"They move the ball around well, so it’s going to be a good game that everyone is looking forward to. I imagine Mark McGregor is looking forward to it and I definitely am."


#AIRBUS v CONNAH’S QUAY, WELSH CUP: Airbus UK Broughton manager Craig Harrison believes his team’s improved firepower this season can carry them to victory in today’s Welsh Cup third round derby at Gap Connah’s Quay.

Harrison has been delighted by the goals for ratio the Wingmakers have produced in the Welsh Premier, although concessions at the other end, particularly late on in games, have been cause for concern.
