AYR

* Gunther McBride has been running well all year and was taken out of the Grand National last week to wait for the Scottish version at 3.30.
* Runner-up in the Champion Hurdle, Westender bids to take the Scottish title under Tony McCoy at 2.15.
* Farmer Jack also ran well at Cheltenham and is likely to benefit from the step up in trip in the 1.45.

NEWBURY

* Richard Hills had the choice between two impressive course and distance winners in the 3.05 and has opted for Horris Hill-winner Makhlab.
* Well fancied when ballotted out of the Lincoln last month, Golden Chalice bids for compensation in the 2.05.
* Last year's St Leger winner Bollin Eric drops back in trip for his reappearance in the 1.35.
