ROYAL ASCOT
* The feature race on the opening day of the Royal meeting is the St James's Palace Stakes, where Kalaman will bid to justify ante-post favouritism in his first start in pattern company.
* Hawk Wing looks to hold strong claims in the Queen Anne Stakes (4.20) after his spectacular reappearance.
* Elusive City steps back to a more suitable trip in the King's Stand Stakes at 3.05.
* Sabbeeh, a thirteen length winner on his debut, is an interesting contender in the Coventry Stakes at 2.30.
THIRSK
* McGillycuddy Reeks bids to follow up his recent Catterick win in the handicap at 5.10.
* Sir Mark Prescott's horses are in good form at present and he saddles Red Damson in the maiden at 2.50.
* Summer Shades has finished second all three starts this year and looks to go one better in the handicap at 4.00.
* Ed Dunlop sends Jumhoor all the way from Newmarket to contest the maiden at 5.45.
