La campionessa Rachel Alexandra (Medaglia d'Oro) ha compiuto nella giornata di ieri un breeze di 4 furlongs (800 metri), con in sella il solito exercise rider Dominic Terry, in 49 secondi netti sul tracciato di Fair Grounds, in vista del rientro di sabato nel New Orleans Ladies $200,000 con in sella Calvin Borel Fair Grounds ha frazionato i tempi finali in 0:25 1/5 e 0:37 1/5 finendo ufficialmente in 0:49, con il furlong finale (il 5°) in 1:01 4/5. Soddisfatto Steve Asmussen che per la sua pupilla guarda sempre alla sfida contro Zenyatta (Street Cry).

NEW ORLEANS - Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra will face four rivals in her 2010 debut in Saturday's New Orleans Ladies at the Fair Grounds.
The 4-year-old filly drew the No. 2 post position Monday. Also entered are Fighter Wing, Zardana, Unforgotten and Clear Sailing.
Rachel Alexandra will be making her first start since beating older males in the Woodward Stakes at Saratoga on Sept. 5. Her most formidable foe could be Zardana. The 6-year-old mare is trained by John Shirreffs, who also trains unbeaten Zenyatta.
The 1 1-16-mile New Orleans Ladies is a prep before Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta meet for the first time in the Apple Blossom on April 9.
Zenyatta makes her first start of the year in Saturday's Santa Margarita at Santa Anita.

It will be an exciting Saturday this weekend, with Rachel Alexandra and Zeynatta both racing again. Rachel will be at the Fair Grounds in race 10. Zenyatta will be at Santa Anita in race 7.
