Quindi, se i giocatori del Drogheda non aranno soddisfatti non scenderanno in campo. In questo caso ho la gara non verrà  giocata, o probabilmente giocheranno con la squadra giovanile. A statement issued on the Professional Footballers Association of Ireland website read: "Following receipt of confirmation of insurance cover and an assurance from the club that the players will receive a full weeks wages, Drogheda United players have postponed their threat not to participate in the game against St Patrick's Athletic this evening. A further meeting between the PFAI / SIPTU and Drogheda United representative will be take place early next week in an attempt to resolve the situation."

United have picked up just one point away from home all season, but more worrying for them is their recent record of six points from the last ten games and they know that if they continue to slip up, Bray Wanderers or UCD could very easily over take them.

Their task will not be helped in Inchicore by the absence of Sean Gallagher (ankle) and Derek Delaney (foot). Brian Kelly (ankle) and Stephen Gray (foot) are also doubtful so Robbie Dunne and Gary Cronin stand by.

St Pat's manager Pat Dolan must plan without Paul Osam (back) and long-term absentee Darragh Maguire. The Saints recent winning run was halted by UCD on Monday night when the students left Richmond Park with a 1-1 draw but Dolan isn't too concerned with the result.

"Getting a point against UCD is good for us because they normally beat us. If they could play us every week I think they would win the League," he said.

Looking ahead to the Drogheda game, he isn't taking anything for granted, paying respect to the team while also giving them his support in their difficult time. "We did well to get a result up there in our first League game of the season, but they're always a tough side to play against. They have financial difficulties at the moment which is overshadowing what a good side they are and everyone in the League has to support them and help them through it because every club goes through it's rough patches."
