[i]Walter Smith will have a selection problem on his hands when Rangers travel to Tannadice in their Scottish Cup replay against Dundee United on Wednesday. The Ibrox boss could be without half his first team for the match due to suspensions and injuries.

Rangers are currently chasing the treble and collected the first silverware of the season with their Co-operative Insurance Cup final victory against St Mirren. The match however saw the sending off of midfielder Kevin Thomson and Danny Wilson.

While Wilson will be available for selection, Thomson will be suspended for the Scottish Cup match in Dundee – one of five who could be out.

Midfielder Lee McCulloch will serve a ban having picked up two yellow cards during the Scottish Cup run which could leaves a void needing to be filled in the middle of the park. Smith’s midfield worries will only be aggravated by Steve Davis who is suffering for a virus which cut short his Co-op Cup experience.


Defenders Madjid Bougherra and Kirk Broadfoot remain out with injury and accumulation of absentees will force Smith search deep into his squad for the crucial cup fixture.

"I've always said that injuries and suspensions would catch up with teams and play a big part in the run-in and that seems to be what is happening to us now." said Smith. “We know the situation with four of our first team regulars who will definitely miss out on Wednesday but there is still some doubt with Davis.

"He did a bit of light training on Monday but we will have to wait another 24 hours or so to assess his match fitness for a very important cup tie. We have options available to us of course but you always want your key players to be available at this time of the season.â€

Anche se ad onor del vero lasciano aperte alcune possibilità  di recupero, dal centrocampo in giù qualche problema c'è.

tentativo per me sul dundee + 1/2 da pinna a 2.07
si potrebbe fare qualcosa dell'over, ma c'è 85 o giù di li per la linea classica 2,5: per ora aspetto ..
