Dopo alcune settimane di stop, a causa delle indagini su presunti atti di corruzione che hanno coinvolto Marsaxlokk e Vittoriosa Stars entrambe retrocesse d'ufficio in First Division, si è ripreso a giocare nella Premier maltese.

Nel match in programma domenica 27 alle ore 16:00 piace la vittoria del Tarxien Rainbows contro il Floriana.

Tarxien che si è decisamente rinforzato rispetto alla passata stagione e che non vedo così sfavorito contro un Floriana che nelle prime due di campionato ha dapprima impattato in rimonta 1-1 contro il Qormi e poi ha subito una pesantissima sconfitta per 0-6 contro il forte Valletta.

Floriana che non dovrà  vedersela solo contro un solido Tarxien ma anche con alcune assenze piuttosto importanti.
Al centrocampista Christian Cassar ed al difensore Sunday Eboh, fuori per l'intera stagione a causa della rottura dei crociati, si sommano le assenze del portiere Bernard Paris, Luke Agius e Joseph Borg. Doubtful Orosco Anonam.

Tarxien che dopo il vittorioso debutto contro il Dingli Swallows ha perduto 0-2 contro il Birkirkara ed oggi non avrà  a disposizione il portiere Anthony Curmi ed il centrocampista Ryan Grech.
La buona notizia è il rientro del difensore brasiliano Anderson Mendes Ribeiro che ha scontato la squalifica.

Vedo match quantomeno pari. per cui mi sono fiondato a prendere 10u di Tarxien ad un ottimo e secondo me esagerato 3,95@expekt

Qormi - Hibernians 04.10 ore 18:00

Trovo interessante provare la vittoria del Qormi, partiti molto bene e che vengono offerti a quota molto allettante.

Battere i Campioni in carica dell'Hibernians sarà  una piccola impresa, ma credo sia nelle corde di un Qormi che può contare anche sull'apporto di un ottimo Camilo Da Silva Sanvezzo autore già  di quattro reti in questo primo scampolo di stagione.

Hibs che ha vinto le prime due contro comodi rivali quali Dingli Swallows e Hamrun Spartans ma che non ha entusiasmato.
Oggi avranno anche qualche importante assenza.

Hibs, like Ħamrun, will play their third match in eight days when they cross swords with high-flying Qormi tomorrow.

This is shaping up as Hibs' most difficult game so far this season as Qormi have had an excellent start, winning seven points from three matches.

As for the champions, they have opened their title defence with victories over Dingli and Ħamrun.

Mark Miller, the Hibs coach, is hoping that fatigue will not take its toll on his players tomorrow.

Aaron Xuereb, Adrian Pulis, Ben Camilleri and Jonathan Pearson are still recovering from injuries while Elkien Cauchi is highly doubtful after picking up a knock in the first half of the 4-2 win over Ħamrun.

For Qormi, defender Sharlon Pace is in line for a recall after a hamstring strain kept him out of last weekend's win over Msida.

Qormi - Valletta

Attesissimo big-match tra il Valletta, una delle più autorevoli candidate alla vittoria finale, ed il Qormi, sorpresa di questo inizio di campionato.

Sono appaiate in vetta alla classifica con 10 punti, al pari del Birkirkara che ha però giocato una partita in più.
Bookmakers che danno il Valletta favoritissimo, ma l'esito potrebbe non essere così scontato.

Il Qormi, trascinato dal bomber Camilo Da Silva Sanvezzo autore di ben sette centri in queste prime giornate, viene dalla strepitosa vittoria in rimonta contro i Campioni dell'Hibernians.

Valletta reduce invece dal mezzo passo falso contro il Msisa Saint-Joseph, in una partita presa probabilmente colpevolmente sottogamba dall'allenatore del Valletta che ha lasciato a riposo molti big.

Attacco del Qormi forse troppo dipendente da Camilo, mentre il Valletta sembra aver maggiore qualità  e più opzioni nel reparto offensivo.

Entrambe finora hanno concesso pochissimo in difesa.
Due i gol subiti dal Qormi, mentre il Valletta ha raccolto solo un pallone nella propria porta.

*Unbeaten Valletta and Qormi on collision course

Valletta, the early favourites for the Premier League title, and Qormi, the early candidates for the surprise team accolade, will be embroiled in a head-on clash this evening at the National Stadium (kick-off 7.30).

A balanced, closely-fought encounter is envisaged between the only two unbeaten sides in the top flight. Valletta and Qormi are level-pegging on 10 points after three victories and a draw in their opening four league matches.

Qormi coach Jesmond Zerafa must be keeping his fingers crossed that the break for international football hasn't disrupted his team's erstwhile sparkling form.

In their last outing, Qormi further fuelled the optimism surrounding their chances of landing a place in the Championship Pool with a 3-1 victory over champions Hibernians.

"It's going to be a tough match for us but I believe that we are capable of rising to the occasion," Zerafa said.

"Valletta have a very strong team. They will be determined to make amends for their disappointing draw with Msida. It's not easy to subdue Valletta's attacking prowess but, on the other hand, I think that with the quality we've got up front, we can score against them."

Camilo Sanvezzo da Silva, Qormi's Brazilian striker, is currently the most talked-about foreign player in the Premier League after his hat-trick against Hibs, his second in as many matches, took his tally of goals to seven in only three outings.

Prior to the start of the season, Valletta were widely billed as the leading candidates to reclaim the Premier League title. The Whites are still fancied to go all the way but their failure to see off the spirited challenge of lowly Msida St Joseph in their last match ought to have given their rivals hope and encouragement.

In the match against Msida, Ton Caanen, the Valletta coach, opted to rest some key players, including his top scorer Terrence Scerri and midfielder Jamie Pace, but the Dutchman is expected to field his big guns from the start today.

"I'm happy that we're playing Qormi because I know that they are a team who play football to win, not to avoid losing," Caanen said.

"I'm looking forward to the match as it promises to offer a good spectacle to the fans."

Caanen admitted that Valletta were disappointed by their failure to beat Msida but he's backing his team to make a quick return to winning ways.

"When you drop points, it's always disappointing but people must understand that the op-ponents made it very difficult for us," Caanen said. "Msida played a defensive game but we still managed to create seven clear chances.

"The draw against Msida has not undermined the positive mood in our clan."

Speculation has been rife over the past few days that Jordi Cruyff could miss today's match but Caanen yesterday told The Times that the Dutch midfielder is available

La tentazione di provare la vittoria Qormi a 5,75 è grande, ma preferisco propendere per un under 2,5 a 2,30@bwin ritenendo il match, a dispetto delle quote, piuttosto vicino e con la possibilità  che le difese abbiano la meglio sui rispettivi attacchi.

Chi comunque volesse rischiare qualcosa sulla vittoria Qormi non farebbe di certo un errore visto che le quote paiono eccessivamente elevate.

Interessante confronto tra due squadre che si stanno ben comportando in questo avvio di stagione.

Qormi sconfitto settimana scorsa dal Valletta, ma che grazie alla battuta d'arresto di questi ultimi nel match contro gli Hibs, potrebbe agganciare in testa alla classifica.

Tarxien che dopo l'inattesa vittoria contro lo Sliema non è riuscito ad andare oltre l'1-1 contro il Msida St. Joseph.

Giustamente favoriti "gli ospiti", ma forse in maniera eccessiva. Tarxien che quest'anno si è rinforzato con una buona campagna acquisti, mentre Qormi che forse in attacco dipende un pò troppo da Camilo Da Silva Sanvezzo.

Jesmond Zerafa, the Qormi coach, is sweating on the fitness of Joseph Farrugia who was stretchered off after suffering a foot injury in the second half of the defeat to Valletta. Steve Meilak is certain to miss tomorrow's match after picking up an injury in the closing stages of Monday's match.
