Tiger Woods may feel he let a US Open slip through his fingers at Pinehurst but you can't keep a good man down for long.
Support him this week to justify favouritism and claim a fourth Cialis Western Open victory at Cog Hill.
A rather patchy display on the greens over the closing holes was the difference between himself and Michael Campbell.
Take nothing away from the Kiwi, but everything he looked at seemed to drop while Woods made uncharacteristic errors on 16 and 17 which meant he could never quite get to grips his rival.
But there was little wrong with the long game and not for the first time, it was the positives that were the focus in the post-tournament analysis.
"Look how beautifully I hit the ball all week," he said on his official website.
"I really controlled my ball flight. I drove the ball better. Just the quality of shots have gotten better and that's exciting.
"My coach Hank (Haney) and I changed a few things after Augusta, trying to fine-tune that, because of what I was struggling with through Augusta.
"And I've taken some nice giant strides. I just wish I could have brought my putter with it."
Time and again we have seen this sort of confidence going into a tournament from Woods and he invariably tends to back it up.
This event is very close to his heart and having won around the course three times already, I expect him to iron out the problems with the putter and complete the four-timer.
There is quite a heavyweight look to the top of the betting with Vijay Singh, Luke Donald and Jim Furyk taking a fair chunk out of the market.
Vijay is back in the groove after two moderate weeks at Memorial and the Booz Allen Classic while Donald went to college in this area and enjoys playing his golf in the state.
Finally, Furyk missed out by a whisker following Padraig Harrington's monster putt (I don't go that far for my holidays) to claim the Barclays Classic on the 72nd hole.
It is impossible to say that none of the trio will win but I just think that Tiger's credentials are just a touch stronger in current mood.
My pick of the bigger prices are Mark Hensby and Fredrik Jacobson.
Like Woods, Hensby has close ties with this venue.
He amazingly spent time living in his car in the lot here when a struggling pro back in December 1994 after friends he was staying with moved.
"One night I woke up and my toes were frozen because it was so cold," Hensby said on PGA Tour.com.
"So I used to drive around the block with the heater on, then go back to sleep."
Despite him saying that it was 'no
